The launch is the result of incorporated efforts of Crocus Expo IEC and the National Marine Industry Association. In spite of the fact that it is the first edition the show has been positioned as a branch event meeting all International standards. The Moscow Boat Show has been enlisted in the calendar of worldwide exhibitions related to yachts and boats, all International branch associations and their members have been informed about the project and advertising campaign cover also Mass Media abroad. The peculiarity of the event is the timeframe of 9 days which accord to accepted yacht shows in the world. The project expositions have an opportunity to be increased up to 60 000 sq m. According to Boris Rylkin, the Deputy Director Crocus Expo IEC the exhibition has no equal in Russia, for the first time in our country all manufacturers of boats and yachts and dealers of all key players of the market are presented at the show . The Moscow Boat Show has been developed to incorporate an impressive exposition of yachts, boats and wakeboards and topical and saturated business program. Alexander Markarov, the President of the National Marine Industry Association, noted "the idea of the organization of a similar exhibition was suggested only in May 2007. The feedback from the Crocus Expo IEC was just instant, and thus the worthy project "was born" in less than 9 months. We are glad that many exhibitors of the Moscow Boat Show-2008 mention extremely friendly attitude from the organizers team. " It is obvious that the next year the exposition will be doubled", he added. The infrastructure of the International Exhibition center Crocus Expo allows implementing of the most ambitious plans of organizers. The total exhibit space in all three pavilions of the fairgrounds comprises about 550 000 sq m and thus provides an opportunity to hold fairs and trade shows of any format and any level. Boris Rylkin, the Deputy Director Crocus Expo IEC, noted "the Moscow Boat Show will be held in the new, the third, pavilion. Spacious exhibit halls of the third pavilion Crocus Expo are perfect for large-size and heavy-duty exhibits, in particular, boats and yachts". Vladimir Arbuzov, the Head of the project VOLVO OCEAN RACE 2008-2009, expressed the idea that " interest to yachting business and sports in Russia is huge. Rest on water is no longer a prerogative of elite, more and more families of middle class can afford purchasing a yacht or a boat. However the infrastructure of the branch considerably remains behind the demand: there are comparatively few manufacturers in our country, there are no equipped yachting marines, competitions on sailing do not receive information and governmental support.
Nevertheless, yachting business and the industry develop. Plenty of exhibitions of small vessels in the world take place in Moscow. According to Boris Rylkin, the Deputy Director Crocus Expo IEC, "we do not strive to compete or create an unhealthy agiotage. The Crocus Expo IEC strive to incorporate efforts of all players of the market with dominant attention to desires and needs of exhibitors. Unfortunately we haven't yet succeeded in uniting of all exhibitions of similar subjects, but the dialogue is still under way.
The Moscow Boat Show is a dream which I and my colleagues bore for many years; I am convinced, that the first exhibition is the beginning of promising and successful way", concluded Alexander Markarov, the President of the National Marine Industry Association.
It should be noted that from the very first working day of the exhibition the Organization Committee welcome applications for the next edition of the Moscow Boat Show in 2009.
The exhibition Moscow Boat Show at the Crocus Expo is opened for general admission up to February 17. Ticket price is 1500 RUR.
